With the support of this grant, we are able to meet our growing demand for menstrual items, and to develop our education initiatives and workshops aimed at creating safe spaces for relevant discussions around menstrual equity.
For Women By Women, Period is dedicated to combating the injustice of inadequate access to menstrual hygiene products for marginalized individuals.
1 in 5 individuals experience period poverty which affects their lives in various ways. For some it means they miss school or are unable to attend work. In many cases you see women choosing to spend their income on bills and/or food instead of purchasing menstrual products. We believe that one should not have to choose between the two. Menstrual products should be easily accessible for all as they are a necessity not a privilege.
With the support of this grant, we are able to increase our product amounts to meet our growing demand for menstrual items each quarter. This funding also allows us to further develop our education initiatives and workshops aimed at creating safe spaces for relevant discussions around menstrual equity and education.
