Jeremiah Program

End the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children two generations at a time

From Jeremiah Program New York staff, families and Board of Directors we would
like to thank WellMet Philanthropy for its support in ending the cycle of poverty for single
mothers and their children two generations at a time in the Brownsville community.

Founded in Minneapolis, MN in 1998, Jeremiah Program came to Brownsville in Brooklyn in 2016 after seeing an opportunity to bring its nationally-recognized program model to single mother families living in the area. The Jeremiah Program aims to break the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children, two generations at a time. The program provides key resources for families to ensure that the mothers complete a career track college education while also enabling their children to achieve academic success.

WellMet provided $25,000 in operating support to Jeremiah Program to build capacity and expand programs in the Brownsville neighborhood.
