Refugee Translation Project

Refugee Translation Project provides free language services to people seeking asylum.

The Refugee Translation Project will use this grant to bolster our ongoing work as well as to expand our capacity to meet the changing language needs of New York City’s growing refugee and immigrant communities.

The Refugee Translation Project is a non-profit dedicated to helping refugees transition to a life of safety and security by providing free language services to people seeking asylum and other immigration relief, increasing access to vital resources, and creating employment opportunities for asylum seekers.

The Refugee Translation Project will use this grant to bolster our ongoing work as well as to expand our capacity to meet the changing language needs of New York City’s growing refugee and immigrant communities. These efforts include training and employing new linguists in underserved languages in order to meet the demands of new asylum seekers, particularly those from Africa, as well as forging new partnerships with service providers, and allocating more hours to project management to increase translation output.
