Cultivating future diverse leaders through judicial internships
The program seeks to cultivate and develop future leaders by placing high school and law students in judicial internships in state and federal courts in NYC. Interns attend an orientation session about the city, state and federal court structure and chamber etiquette. Students then work with judges and their staff four days a week for four weeks. A fifth day is devoted to professional development workshops.
WellMet’s $15,000 grant for the high school program will be used towards stipends for students and the cost of their orientation and workshops.
