Stem From Dance

Founded by an MIT grad who saw especially women of color dropping out from pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and math, STEM marries twice weekly dance programs with tutoring. There’s an hour of math using flash cards, computers, pencil and paper and most of all, logic. Last year’s engineering project was a robot, which the girls built. Teachers are volunteers. Our grant went for the establishment of a third location, this one in downtown Brooklyn.
