The Coalition of Institutionalized Aged and Disabled (CIAD)

CIAD is a constituent-led advocacy organization that seeks to protect rights and improve lives.

"The grant CIAD received from WellMet will help us to connect more effectively and frequently with homes that have been underserved in the past several years, increasing resident well being and greater autonomy."

The Coalition of Institutionalized Aged and Disabled (CIAD) is a non-profit, constituent-led advocacy organization of adults living in Adult Care Facilities (ACF). The vision of CIAD is one that seeks to protect people’s rights, improve the quality of their lives and living circumstances, and transform institutions into real community settings where people live with dignity, autonomy, and agency.

As residents of Adult Care Facilities continue to recover from the isolation and restricted visitation they lived through from the pandemic, the training and individual support CIAD staff has never been more important. The grant CIAD received from WellMet will help us to connect more effectively and frequently with homes that have been underserved in the past several years, increasing resident well being and greater autonomy.
